Kgodiso Komane - Lawyer, MP, Entrepreneur

Kgodisho Komane is a distinguished alumnus of Bertharry English Private School, where he matriculated in 2015. After completing his schooling, he enrolled at the University of Limpopo, where he actively participated in student governance, securing a position in the Parliament of Limpopo. Komane’s career has since flourished, and he is now an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa. His professional journey is vast and diverse. He currently serves as the Secretary for the Xolani Khumalo Foundation, and as Head Legal Officer for Easy Saturdays Business Enterprise. Komane is also a Global Shaper with the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community, a network of young leaders committed to improving their communities.

Throughout his career, he has held key roles in several organizations, including positions as a Chief Compliance Officer, Candidate Attorney, and Shareholder in various enterprises. His leadership and dedication to community development, particularly through NGOs and his numerous business ventures, highlight his commitment to making a positive impact on society. Ratile Boitumelo Mabitsela - Director of Miss Tembisa, Businesswoman

Ratile Boitumelo Mabitsela is a dynamic leader, dedicated mother, wife, businesswoman, and philanthropist. Raised in Tembisa, Maokeng, Ratile was crowned Miss Tembisa in 2014. In 2019, she took over the Miss Tembisa Pageant, driven by her mission to empower young women and create fair opportunities for them to succeed. Her passion for women empowerment is deeply rooted in her commitment to helping the girl child thrive.

Ratile holds a National Diploma in Operations Management, a Degree in Project Management, and an Honors Degree in Programme Management. She is the director of T&T Energies and Glam Directory, among other ventures, showcasing her strong leadership and business skills. As the CEO of T&T Energies, she leads a team committed to delivering clean, sustainable energy solutions, positively impacting society and the environment.

With over 9 years of experience managing projects across education, health, and environment sectors, Ratile balances her professional success with personal commitments. As a 2023 Mrs. South Africa Semi-Finalist, she embodies grace and social impact, living by her motto, “You never lose anything from trying.

Matuma Langa - Chairperson, Business Analyst, Mentor

Matuma Petunia Langa stands as a paragon of excellence and leadership in the field of Business Analysis, currently serving as the Provincial Lead at the International Institute of Business Analysts, a role she has held since August 2022. Her strategic decision to join IIBA-SA was driven by a visionary commitment to elevate and empower business analyst professionals across South Africa. With an unrelenting dedication to fostering opportunities for individuals to excel and make impactful societal contributions, she lives by the credo: “A leader’s responsibility in our society is to unlock the potential in all its various forms.”

With a strong background in business analysis, Matuma has worked across industries, including telecommunications, banking, education, and health insurance, honing her expertise at prominent companies. She is currently working at a leading financial institution, bringing her wealth of experience to drive business success and innovation.

Matuma has distinguished herself as a formidable woman in leadership, a dynamic event host, and a compassionate philanthropist. She is the founding director of MR/Miss Mapela Ambassador, a transformative pageant in Mapela village, Limpopo, that champions the empowerment of young women and inspires them to become agents of change in their communities. Her role as a mental health activist further underscores her commitment to societal well-being, as she tirelessly advocates for mental health awareness and the eradication of stigmas.

A passionate mentor, Matuma actively contributes to the professional growth of upcoming business analysts and has been deeply involved in the Youth Managers Foundation, where her guidance has helped transform schools and empower young leaders. Her leadership, both in business and community service, exemplifies her unwavering dedication to positive change and her extraordinary ability to inspire others.

Amidst her professional triumphs, Matuma remains a present and devoted mother to her son, balancing her career with grace and unwavering dedication to her family. Hartley Phasha - Statistician, Consultant, Senior Quantitative Analyst.

Hartley Phasha is a skilled Senior Quantitative Analyst. With a passion for numbers and problem-solving, Hartley plays a key role at African Bank, where he uses his expertise to help the bank make smart decisions about lending. His work involves analyzing data to assess financial risks, ensuring that the bank operates efficiently and responsibly.

Hartley’s academic journey began at the University of Pretoria, where he earned a BCom in Statistics and an Honours degree in the same field. During his time at university, he was actively involved in organizations like the Golden Key International Honour Society and the Young Economists Society, honing his leadership and analytical skills. With over 5 years of experience in the finance industry, including roles at Standard Bank and True North Partners, Hartley has built a strong foundation in data analysis and credit risk management. His career is marked by his commitment to excellence and his ability to turn complex data into meaningful insights.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Established in 1991, the school was named after its co-founding siblings, now Directors, Bertha and Harry Kumwenda. With a very humble beginning of a township crèche, and with only three learners, the school first opened its doors in Endulwini, at St Mathews Catholic Church premises. The school improved each passing year with the introduction of the Primary school phase as the children graduated from the pre-school. The school prides itself as the first black owned private school, in the township, to have English as its Home Language and Afrikaans as the First Additional Language.
